Welcome to ThyssenKrupp Veerhaven B.V. ThyssenKrupp Veerhaven is one of the most modern and prominent push-tow shipping companies – in the dry bulk sector - on the Rhine and has been established in Brielle (Province of Zuid-Holland) since 1984. Route description

In 1967 N.V. Veerhaven Scheepvaart-en Agenturenmaatschappij [Shipping and Agency Company] started - as a division of the German Thyssen concern - its activities,  the supply of base materials from Rotterdam to the ports of Thyssen in Duisburg.
With this Veerhaven became the Thyssen seaport forwarder for the ports of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp (ARA-ports).
The push navigation sector has in the past decades proved to be the “Just in Time” system for the German steel industry in Nordrhein-Westfalen. It is done in a reliable, economical and environment-friendly manner. In 2002 the name Veerhaven B.V. changed in ThyssenKrupp Veerhaven B.V.

ThyssenKrupp Veerhaven currently employs around 170 people.

The Agency Department is responsible for handling sea ships and/or bulk cargo in the Dutch seaports. Yearly the Agency Department cleares around 22,0 million tons of dry bulk cargo through customs and - in its capacity as shipping agent - handles 600 sea ships.

The Rhineshipping department is responsible for the co-ordination of the fleet, which means the transportation of around 60,000 - 80,000 tons of ore and coal  of which a part  are intented for Pruna Betreiber GmbH,  a day to the blast furnaces of ThyssenKrupp Stahl in Schwelgern (Duisburg).
ThyssenKrupp Veerhaven's fleet consists of 7 push boats, 1 harbour push boat and around 70 pushed barges and 2 inspection boats. 
The remaining tons are transported through contracts with  partner shipping companies.
At present the total deployed fleet consists of 10 push boats and around 100 pushed barges, which takes care of this transport 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Nautical Technical Service Department is responsible for  the total maintenance of the ThyssenKrupp Veerhaven fleet and works closely together with shipyards, engine manufacturers and other suppliers.

The Manager Fleet is the executive of the complete crew of the fleet, i.e. the "Streckenschubboote"and the port operated pushboat VH 6 "Bison". The Manager Nautical and Technical Department is responsible for the technical staff of the inspection boats.
